I have read about other conferences taking place in Australia, Arizona, and Europe, but they were well out of my financial reach, not to mention being a long way to go. So I was delighted to learn that there would be a similar conference in my area: Vancouver, BC. I’m in Victoria, and can take a ferry over to Vancouver for a few days, which is not far at all. And much cheaper than going overseas…

Anyway, I registered pretty quickly, and am raring to go! It was too good an opportunity to pass up…I mean, there’s going to be presentations, workshops, receptions (or parties), and plenty of networking going on. Sounds like a good time. There are going to be a lot of big names in the web industry attending, some of whom whose websites/blogs/publications I read regularly. This could be a great opportunity to maybe meet some of these people, or at least, just be in the same room as them!

I’m signed up for the two-day conference, and am contemplating the extra full-day workshop the day before, but am unsure which one to take…There’s three of them: Derek Featherstone on Accessibility 2.0, Andy Clarke and Aaron Gustafson on CSS and Javascript, and Kelly Goto’s Iterative App. They all sound great, but unless I figure out how to be in multiple places at once, I can only attend one. Decisions, decisions!
