Spider-Man 3

I actually saw the movie the same weekend it opened, which is unusual for me. I’m usually in no great rush to see a new movie, but I made an exception this time. Boy was it busy, although not too surprisingly since the movie had just opened. My take on the movie?

There was a lot of hype and expectations building up for the movie - not for me personally, as I’m not a Spidey fan specifically - in the media and on the web, and I think it was justified. The movie was overall well worth seeing.

There were a lot of drama scenes between Peter and Mary Jane, too much I thought. There didn’t seem to be as much action as I was used to from the previous two movies.

Harry Osborn still has his grudge against Peter, believing that Peter/Spider-Man killed his dad, Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin in the first movie). There are several conflicts between the two through the movie, although they (temporarily at least) work together close to the end.

Besides Harry, Spider-Man also has to deal with two new threats: Sandman and Venom. In the end, Venom is ganged up against by the other three, and defeated.

There were some funny moments in the movie, mainly based around Peter’s boss at the newspaper, Jonah Jameson. He is quite a character, and there are several funny scenes involving him.

Even if you are not specifically a Spider-Man fan, this movie is still worth seeing, as it obviously continues from the previous two shows, and shows us more of all the characters involved.
